The Calgary and District Foster Parent Association is now recruiting an experienced Foster Care Family Recruiter Coordinator. We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, relationship-focused individual to fill this position. We serve the Greater Calgary Region.

Educating families and the public on the countless rewards of opening their home to become foster parents, assisting them with the application process and supporting their enquiries are the goals of this position.
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Being an outgoing positive spokesperson and advocate and ambassador for the Foster Care Program.
- Initiating and implementing a strong outreach marketing plan, both formal and informal.
- Experience as a foster parent or foster parent facilitator as asset.
- Seeking out and partnering with a variety of community groups with the common mission of helping children find safe and culturally appropriate care.
- Coordinating, planning and executing events and opportunities to promote the Foster Care Program.
- Responding to every referral and enquiry and pursue all leads relating to the Foster Care Program in a timely manner.
- Hosting regular and frequent Foster Parent Information Sessions for the public.
- Targeted recruitment as required by the ongoing variable needs within Childrens’ Services.
- Working cross-culturally and respectfully with those coming from diverse communities, differing experiences, gender and sexual minorities as well as faith communities and others who identify with contributing to the safety and stability of children.
- Sharing an office housed within Children’s Services where confidentiality is paramount.
- Establishing and growing trusting and supportive relationships with current and prospective foster parents.
- Managing a prescribed yearly recruitment budget with regular reports to the CRFKA Board.
The successful candidate will have:
- Solid understanding of the Alberta Foster Care system, policy and procedures.
- Familiarity with behaviour based screening techniques, the ability to seek out a deeper level of clarity.
- Diploma in human services, or related field.
- Background in public relations, Marketing or Journalism.
- Knowledgeable of databases and data entry.
- Demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for the program in a positive and realistic fashion.
- Possess general knowledge of the history of Indigenous children in care and the importance of culturally sensitive and supportive caregiving.
- Demonstrate respect to diverse communities, backgrounds, identities, gender and sexualities with an understanding of terminology and pronouns.
- Work independently as well as partnering with multiple stakeholders and organizations.
- Have experience working for a not-for-profit organization comprised of a volunteer Board.
- Be a confident public speaker, including participating in media interviews.
- Have a clear communication style, including both written and verbal messaging.
- Establish, maintain and adapt to a flexible schedule, will include evening and weekends, based on the ongoing needs of the program.
- Be fiscally responsible.
- Criminal Record Check, Child Intervention Check, and Drivers Abstract will be required.
